Delete your data
This page explains how to delete your Helm Signage account and the data connected to it, including data from the Helm Signage Player app on Google Play. Helm Signage is operated by Captains Media Limited.
How to request deletion
- Email privacy@helmsignage.com from the email address you use to sign in to Helm Signage.
- Use the subject line “Delete my Helm Signage data” and include your company or account name.
- Tell us whether you want the whole account deleted, or only specific screens or content.
We’ll reply to confirm your request. We may ask you to verify that you own or administer the account before we delete anything, so that nobody else can delete your data.
What we delete
When an account is deleted, we remove or de-identify:
- Your account and the users on it (names, email addresses and sign-in details)
- Your screens, including their pairing details, device information and approximate location
- Your playlists, slides, schedules and settings
- Media you uploaded (images, videos, fonts and documents)
- Playback history and the preview images screens send to your dashboard
- Device status reports sent by the Helm Signage Player app (app and system version, memory, storage and network details)
Active copies are scheduled for deletion within 30 days of your confirmed request.
What we keep, and for how long
- Backups: copies may remain in protected backups until they are overwritten through normal backup cycles. They aren’t used to provide the service.
- Billing records: invoices, payment and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires.
- Security and legal needs: we may keep specific information longer where it’s needed for security, fraud prevention, disputes or legal compliance.
- De-identified data: information that can no longer identify you or your organization may be kept.
Deleting individual items
You don’t need to delete your whole account to remove something. While signed in to your dashboard, you can delete individual screens, media, slides and playlists at any time.
Uninstalling the Helm Signage Player app, or unpairing a screen, stops that device from sending new data, but it doesn’t delete your account or the data already stored. To have that removed, follow the steps above.
